“Happy Hour”
- Group Exhibition at A Space Gallery
You said one drink. It’s never one drink.
“Happy Hour” is that familiar window where everything feels easier, funnier, and less serious than it probably should be. Drinks arrive before we have decided how we feel. Conversations start before we know what we want to say.
We are looking for works that respond to the culture, mood, and psychology of happy hour. We welcome works that reflect on pleasure, habit, release, self-control, social performance, and the emotional complexity that can exist within seemingly casual acts of drinking.
🍸 Eligibility: Open to all visual artists in all media
🍸 Submission fee: $25
🍸 Application deadline: April 24, 2026
🍸 Exhibition date: May 1 – May 7, 2026

About the juror:
Xianglong Li is the Co-Founder and Director of A SpaceGallery in Brooklyn, New York. Working across gallery programming, curatorial initiatives, and artist development,he has led the gallery in presenting emerging artists through exhibitions and art fairs, including Focus Art Fair New York, Art on Paper New York, and Affordable Art Fair New York. Alongside his institutional and curatorial work, Li maintains an active artistic practice centered on contemporary imageculture, with a particular focus on internet visuality and popsymbolism. His work has been shown in exhibitions and projects across New York, Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Barcelona, etc., and has been featured in platforms including Two Coats of Paint, COEVAL Magazine, Asian ArtContemporary, The Art Insider, etc.
What happens on opening night?
During the juried exhibition opening, jurors will choose one Winner from the exhibition.
