Group Exhibition at A Space Gallery
Digital systems allow time to behave in ways that human experience cannot. A world can be saved, restored, restarted, or repeated. Characters can die and return. Choices can be undone. An earlier state can be recovered as though what followed had never happened.
Yet the person moving through that system does not return unchanged.
Each repetition carries knowledge from what came before. A player may enter the same room, meet the same character, or make the same choice again, but the experience is no longer the same.
The system resets; memory accumulates.
SAVE / DIE / RETRY explores the tension between reversible systems and irreversible experience. The exhibition considers how memory, attachment, identity, and meaning persist across resets, loops, copies, deaths, updates, and returns.
This open call invites artists whose work engages repetition, digital memory, save states, nonlinear time, virtual identity, artificial intimacy, death and respawn, altered timelines, digital relationships, or the emotional consequences of beginning again.
The exhibition ultimately asks: When a system returns to an earlier state, what actually comes back with it? If a character, world, or machine returns without the history that once connected us to it, is it still the same one?
Eligibility: Open to all Visual Artists in all media.
