ART ON PAPER
Sep 04, 2025 - Sep 07, 2025

At Art on Paper 2025, A Space Gallery presents a diverse group of artists whose practices span digital media, abstraction, traditional cultural motifs, illustration, and surreal imagery. Yichen Ji merges digital media, installation, and sculpture to explore the intersection of technology and human experience; Xianghan Cheng layers the rhythms of city life into dynamic abstractions; Yiting Liu weaves traditional Chinese culture with contemporary expression; Jianye (Jenny) Zou blends graphic minimalism with dreamlike imagery; Yiming Tang captures the psychological tension between solitude and connection, and Zhishen Li creates narrative illustrations that transform the fleeting, unstable world of dreams into hazy, collective landscapes. Together, their works embody the gallery’s spirit of innovation, dialogue, and cross-cultural exchange.
Yiming Tang
Stay Away From My Dinner
2025
Oil on Canvas
72 x 32 in
Yiming Tang’s work explores the relationship between the individual and solitude, as well as a sense of detachment from everyday life. He believes that solitude is an eternal state within each individual—an inevitable wound, a challenge, and ultimately, a condition one must learn to live with.
Xianghan Cheng
Untitled (W)
2025
Oil on canvas
68 x 56 in
Cheng's art draws from the rhythm and texture of city life, simplifying and reinterpreting the urban environment through shapes, lines, and layers. Influenced by everything from the textures of tactile sidewalks to the fluidity of graffiti, his work merges timelines and experiences into visually dynamic compositions.
Yiting Liu

Jianye (Jenny) Zou
The Shape of Lost Afternoon
2025
Digital, color pencil, and watercolor
16 x 20 in
Jenny loves to explore original graphic art with simple shapes and a few lines of linework, combining soft colors, patterns, and textures. In her dreams, she draws buildings, forests, animals, and other imaginary things. Also, paper products, packaging, and album and book covers are her abiding passions.

Zhishen Li
Baku
2025
Digital painting
25 x 13 in
Edition of 10
Li has developed a soft yet structured visual style that balances dreamy atmospheres with clarity of form, first through airbrush and now using textured pencil brushes. Projects like “Nova” and “Baku” reflect his interest in visualizing inner landscapes and emotional states through fantasy. He believes illustration can be both an escape and a mirror: a space where imagination gives shape to what we fear, hope, or can’t yet.
